WHO WE ARE
ABW was established in Spring 2008 by two directors – Simon Almond and Andrew Brown- who had formerly worked together over a period of 20 years. After more than 3 years of practice the office comprises a team of 8 like-minded individuals: 6 architects, a building surveyor and one administrator. We enjoy working together and share common objectives to provide client-focused architectural services and create inspirational places.
The office is located at 16 Cook Street within Liverpool City Centre. It benefits from the commercial life of the city and has easy access to and from the North West, North Wales and beyond. We are a relatively small but highly focused practice. This size is key to maintaining a strong office ethos which fosters good design and delivers projects on time and within budget.
Sustainable building design is an integral part of our approach. It forms a responsible attitude to increasingly scarce resources and can, in our experience, deliver significant savings to the running costs of a building. Over many years -even before low-carbon design became widely accepted within the UK construction industry and ABW was founded- the directors have designed, built and overseen the monitoring of low energy buildings. They have proven experience here and understand which combination of green technologies are the most appropriate for each application.
We are approachable people who value long-term collaboration with client organisations, fellow consultants and contractors. Whether you are an experienced client who has built many times before or are considering your first building project we will provide support and guidance throughout the project and adapt the way we work to support your needs.
