MANAGEMENT SCHOOL
The design of the new Management School began in 2015 when Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios won a competition to redevelop it, as part of a campus-wide regeneration. ABW architects joined the project in Autumn 2018 and have provided post-contract architectural services over the last two years to deliver the £19m Management School's West Pavilion.
The new five-storey atrium building comprises lecture theatres, seminar rooms and board rooms on the lower two floors, and staff / post-graduate offices on the upper three floors. Thanks to bespoke timber panelling - produced by main contractors John Turner Construction Group - the lecture theatres and atrium achieve excellent acoustic standards.
The building is a parallelogram in plan; the corners of this form offer breakout spaces for group work, which take full advantage of the surrounding views - to the East the dramatic Forest of Bowland, and the coast to the West.
The building has been designed and constructed to BREEAM Excellent standards and delivered to BIM Level 2. Project photos taken by Oliver Harman.
